The project of the Havel’s Library Foundation involves the rehabilitation of the Loreta building, located in the historic centre of Prague.
Our main goal was to convert this building into the headquarters of the library, providing interactive spaces that would include a library, an exhibition gallery, a conference room, a café, a study room, offices, archives, and apartments for visiting professors.
In order to reflect the character of this institution, we have used a palette of neutral colours in the interiors, contributing to the creation of a tranquil atmosphere. Additionally, we have designed a courtyard with a lightweight structure that allows for seamless communication between the different levels of the building, while also providing ample space for hosting events.
This project has been particularly significant as it has provided us with the opportunity to participate in the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution. It has been an exceptional moment in which we have been able to contribute to the historical and cultural legacy of Prague through the creation of this space dedicated to knowledge and inspiration.
